Volteface Branco Reserva 2022
VolteFace White Reserve 2023
VolteFace White Reserve 2023 is the signature white wine of the VolteFace – Wines of Change project, created by winemaker Teresa Metelo Dias to showcase a bolder and more contemporary Alentejo. In a bottle with an irreverent and cosmopolitan design, this wine takes on the role of ‘Alentejo's flagship white wine’, produced in a limited series of 6,666 bottles.
Vintage 2023
The 2023 harvest has produced a full but balanced profile, with ripe fruit and firm acidity. It is a white wine designed to be drunk young, but with the structure to evolve in the bottle between 2024 and 2028, maintaining its freshness and complexity.
Vinification
The Antão Vaz and Arinto (10%) grapes are harvested in the Alentejo and fermented in stainless steel. This is followed by alcoholic fermentation and 12 months of ageing sur lies in stainless steel tanks, with partial battonage in French oak barrels (10%), which gives it a creamy texture without losing its fruit identity. An alcohol content of 13%, total acidity of 5.1 g/L and pH of 3.43 reinforce its gastronomic profile.
Tasting notes
Very bright straw/citrus colour. The nose reveals exuberant tropical aromas of pineapple and banana, with a slight floral and citrus touch. On the palate, it is unctuous and enveloping, with creaminess provided by ageing sur lies, refreshing acidity and a long, fresh and inviting finish. It shines at the table with cod, oily fish, soft cheeses or sushi.
