Bafarela Grande Reserva 2022 is a limited production red wine from the Douro region, released only in exceptional vintages. It is a surprising wine that benefits from being opened some time before consumption. Its elegant and complex profile pairs perfectly with good meats, game and intense cheeses.

Vinification: Careful selection of grapes in the vineyard. Total destemming and controlled crushing. Pre-fermentation skin contact at low temperatures for 48 hours. Fermentation took place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats and maceration with moderate extraction lasted for over 40 days. In new stainless-steel vats, the wine underwent malolactic fermentation and was immediately transferred to French oak barrels (500L) where it aged for 12 months.

Tasting Notes: Intense, deep colour. Distinct aroma of great intensity and complexity with floral notes. On the palate, it has good amplitude and precision, seductive, with evident fruit very focused on floral notes, presenting a good structure with dense but fine tannins. It stands out more for its freshness than for its concentration, with a long, seductive and persistent finish.

Grape Varieties: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz.
