Casa Ferreirinha Quinta da Leda 2020

Quinta da Leda 2020 is a red wine of superior quality, an exceptional symbol of the richness and contemporaneity of the great Douro wines. It is characterised by its complexity and elegance, with aromas of black fruits such as plums and spices. Casa Ferreirinha is the brand with the longest tradition of quality in the Douro and one of the world's leading references.

Tasting notes: Deep ruby colour and intense, complex aroma. On the nose, nuts such as almonds and hazelnuts, floral notes of lavender, balsamic notes of cedar and a slight minty aroma stand out. Spices, black fruit, some shrubby notes and high-quality wood also stand out. In the mouth, the floral and black fruit notes stand out. It's voluminous and smooth at the same time, with lively, well-integrated tannins and a finish of great elegance and longevity.

Grape Varieties: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinto Cão and Tempranillo

Winemaker: Luís Sottomayor

Very dark – black at the core to a dark purplish rim. The aroma is dark, rocky and charry but not overly oaky. Firm, chewy, structured and deliciously dry in texture. Lots of dark, dark fruit without any unwanted sweetness. A highly refined, polished Douro. Long and elegant and still in its youth. Long, cool aftertaste.

In line with previous editions of this Douro Superior classic, with a very composed aroma, red fruit, good freshness and concentration, well-integrated barrels, dry vegetal. In short: pure seduction. In the mouth, ample and flavoursome, concentrated without over-ripeness, very polished, remarkably balanced!

Lots of beautiful fruit with blackberries and orange peel with crushed stone character. Medium body. Fine tannins and vivid acid underneath. Made from co-planted vines in the Douro. August 2023 release. Better after 2026.
