Quinta do Noval Touriga Nacional 2020 is an intense and concentrated wine, with a refined tannin structure, Touriga Nacional is distinguished by its delicacy, a characteristic of the Quinta do Noval style. It is the result of a strict selection of the best lots produced by the Quinta in a given year.
Vinification: This wine is fermented in stainless steel vats for 8 days, followed by malolactic fermentation. It is also aged in 225 liter French oak barrels for 12 months, 20% in new barrels, 60% second year and 20% third year.
Tasting notes: This wine has a very dark color which immediately gives it power. It is very expressive with strong aromas of wild berries and violets. Slightly spicy with hints of chocolate. Very good wood aromas supported by a tannic backbone. A very expressive varietal wine that will improve in the bottle over many years.

The 2020 Touriga Nacional is ripe and heady at 15% alcohol, extroverted and a little baroque, voluptuous and generously oaked—it spent 12 months in 225-liter French oak barrels, 20% of them new, 60% second-use and the rest third-use barrels. It's intense and concentrated, with glossy tannins and aromas and floral flavors from the Touriga intermixed with lots of sweet spices, toast and smoke. It has abundant tannins and a dry, oak-dominated finish.
A lot of crushed dark berries with dried orange peel, anisette and black cardamom. Crushed rocks, too. Meaty and structured with full body and racy, well-integrated tannins. It has power and energy, and is really attractive already. Drink or hold.
The floral notes of this wine immediately announce Touriga Nacional. It is a dense and powerful wine showing its rich tannins and concentrated black currant flavors. While the wine does have weight, it also has great elegance and certainly balance. It needs to age, and is only likely to be ready from 2026.
