António Braga Ipiranga Red 2022
Ipiranga Red 2022 is one of the creations of António Braga, a Portuguese winemaker recognised for his dedication to producing wines that reflect the authenticity of Portuguese grape varieties and terroirs. It comes from grapes from five plots, located in four different vineyards in the three sub-regions of the Douro. In this way, the perfect balance was achieved between the different exposures, altitudes and grape varieties. This wine harmonises well with meat dishes such as beef, lamb, pasta and game (venison, for example).
Vinification: Four fermentations were carried out, combining different grape varieties. Cold pre-fermentation maceration to increase fruit expression. Gentle extraction for 10 days. The wine was then aged in used French oak barrels for 16 months.
Tasting Notes: Intense ruby colour. Very expressive aroma, with notes of ripe red fruit, liquorice and a slight balsamic hint from the barrel ageing. The palate is intense, with fully integrated tannins and a very balanced acidity. It finishes long and persistent.
