Carlos Raposo Tinta Pinheira 2023 is a Dão wine made exclusively from the Tinta Pinheira grape variety, a rare and delicate variety. It goes well with game dishes such as partridge or wild boar. Cod dishes and a suggestion of cheeses: Camembert and Brie. Vegetarian suggestions: dishes with mushrooms or truffles.

Vinification: The grapes were picked by hand in the early hours of the last week of August 2023. They were gently transported in 15kg crates and a second sorting of the grapes was carried out at the entrance to the winery. Only the bunches that proved to be perfect were sent by gravity to the cement press, where the alcoholic fermentation took place. Afterwards, malolactic fermentation took place in ‘Puligny Montrachet’ French oak barrels for 15 months. This took place naturally and without any added chemicals and/or yeasts.

Tasting notes: Very pure and elegant with an open ruby colour with violet nuances. The nose is delicate but complex, with notes of forest fruits accompanied by a light floral touch and hints of spices. When it opens up, there is a slight earthy touch. Good structure, balanced acidity, elegance and precision. The flavour is fruity and fresh, with soft, well-integrated tannins. Long persistence with a pleasant, slightly balsamic finish. It can be drunk young, but also has great ageing potential, developing more complexity over time.
