Piantagrossa ‘Dessus’ Valle d'Aosta 2020 is an excellent choice to accompany dishes such as grilled red meats, pasta with rich sauces and medium-aged cheeses. It exemplifies the ability of the region's producers to create elegant and complex wines that are both accessible and refined.

Vinification: Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, with regular pumping over for good extraction of colour and aromas. Maceration is prolonged to integrate the tannins. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and is aged in French oak barrels for 12 to 18 months. Before bottling, it is lightly filtered.

Tasting notes: Deep ruby colour. It's captivating and expressive with notes of red fruit, complemented by hints of black fruit such as plums and blackberries. There are also subtle floral nuances, reminiscent of roses and violets, as well as a light herbaceous touch that adds freshness to the bouquet. It's still a vibrant, well-structured wine. Soft, velvety tannins create a pleasant, enveloping texture. The acidity is balanced, giving the wine freshness and liveliness. The finish is long and harmonious, with a slight minerality that reflects the mountainous terroir of Valle d'Aosta.
