Guru 2023
Wine & Soul is one of Portugal's most prestigious wine producers. Founded in 2001 by winemakers Sandra Tavares da Silva and Jorge Serôdio Borges, they have invested in and purchased old vineyards and properties in the Pinhão Valley. The vineyard that produces Guru 2023 is an old vineyard of around 60 years old with Viosinho, Rabigato, Códega do Larinho and Gouveio grape varieties. The vines are north-facing at an altitude of around 600 metres. Guru 2023 is a seductive and elegant wine with aromas of white flowers, grapefruit, lime and mineral notes. Very long on the palate, with good texture and an excellent finish.
Vinification: The harvest took place in perfect weather conditions between 17 and 25 August. The carefully selected and destemmed grapes were pressed in a pneumatic press and fermented in 8% new French oak barrels for 8 weeks at low temperatures. It was then aged in the same barrels for 8 months with bâtonnage. 21,000 bottles were produced.
Producer's tasting notes: A very seductive and elegant wine with aromas of white flowers, white peach and lime with mineral notes. Very long on the palate, with a smooth texture and an excellent finish.
Grape varieties: Rabigato, Códegado do Larinho and Gouveio

The nose of the 2023 Guru is clean, precise, elegant and nuanced, very insinuating and subtle, corresponding to a cooler vintage that delivered one of the finest versions of this white, which ranks among the most elegant in Douro. It has the serious and mineral mouthfeel from the Douro schist soils, finishing dry and long, with an almost salty twist. It has a moderate 12.5% alcohol, denoting contained ripeness that translates into white flowers and wild herbs and a pH of 3.39, parameters of very good freshness. The oak is neatly integrated. 21,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2024.
Very clear in colour, with a youthful aroma, exuberant floral notes, reductive and almost terpenic notes in fantastic harmony, perfectly aged in oak and very fresh. On the palate, it has excellent acidity, medium body, light and very precise, with a hint of fruit. The best and freshest Guru ever!
