Júlio B. Bastos is a tribute wine to the winemaker's father.
Vinification: The result of selecting the best grapes from old vines of Alicante Bouschet, which were trodden in marble lagares and vinified at controlled temperatures. The wine is aged in new French oak barrels for 14 months.
Tasting Notes (Grandes Escolhas): Fermented in a marble press, it's huge in every sense, impactful and elegant at the same time. Mint, olives, wild berries, peppers, light barrel smokiness combine in a robust body, served by silky tannins and vibrant freshness that lingers on the distinctive finish. Outstanding.
