Quinta do Noval Vintage 2022
Quinta do Noval Vintage 2022
Quinta do Noval Vintage 2022 Port is characterized by its purity of fruit and a fine, delicate quality that is typical of the estate's wines in general, but which finds its most notable and lasting expression in Vintage Ports. They are only declared when Noval believes that the year has produced a batch, however small, worthy of the Quinta do Noval label.
Vinification: The grapes are trodden by foot in the lagares to obtain the must, and then macerated during fermentation to obtain the best possible extraction of aromas, color and tannins. The wine is aged for 18 months in oak casks before being bottled
Tasting notes: The wine has a marked stylistic individuality, reflecting the particular conditions of the year, being very elegant and balanced, with great finesse and very pure floral and berry fruit aromas. It is strongly aromatic, with dense, firm and fine tannins, the purity of the fruit, elegance and balance being some of the most striking characteristics of this beautiful vintage.
Winemaker: Carlos Agrellos,
Grape varieties: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa, Tinto Cão, Sousão, Tinta Roriz

A huge, monumental wine that will need decades to reach its prime. Heady, bold aromas of crushed blackberries, wood char and grilled plums lead to blackberry jam, road tar, dark chocolate and espresso soaked in sweetness and resting in a full body. Such a long, sweet and fruit-infused finish. Best from 2037 and several more decades.
It includes part of the old vines, plus Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa and Sousão. Here we feel a balance between the finesse of the ripe fruit that is attractive straight away and a tannic power that ensures we will have wine for many years to come. Black fruit with great polish, acidity and tannins.
Purple. The aromas are absolutely tantalising - caruma, forest floor, blueberry, cherry liqueur, eucalyptus. The tannin is fine, the squareness is delineated without edges, the brandy is invisible, and the finish lingers with a silkiness that only great terroirs can achieve. Open now or leave it in the bottle - either decision is perfectly valid.
