Quinta do Noval Nacional is a wine where all the grapes come from the Nacional plot in the Quinta do Noval vineyard, located in Pinhão - the heart of the Douro Valley. The plot that gives rise to Noval Nacional is a small area with free-standing vines, in the heart of the Quinta do Noval vineyard, untouched by phylloxera. The word “Nacional” refers to the fact that these vines are Portuguese vines growing in Portuguese soil, without American rootstock, and therefore directly “rooted in the soil of the nation”.

Producer's Tasting Notes: “From the outset, it was clear that Quinta do Noval Nacional Vintage 2022 was exceptional (...). Powerful and pure, it combines opulent richness, intensity and concentration with impressive freshness.

Vinification: Vinification is the same as that used for all the grapes from the Quinta do Noval vineyards. The grapes are foot trodden to obtain the must and fermented in the Quinta's traditional stone lagares. Quinta do Noval Nacional Vintage is aged for 18 months in an old oak and chestnut barrel with a capacity of 2,500 liters.
