Quinta da Boavista Reserva 2021
Quinta da Boavista Reserva 2021
Quinta da Boavista Reserva 2021 is a red wine that forms the backbone of this estate's portfolio and is made from a blend of grapes from old and newer vines. This reserve was aged in 225-litre French oak barrels. It reflects the combination of multiple micro-terroirs. The different grape varieties, of different ages, at different altitudes and sun exposures express themselves here in a unique way, resulting in a multifaceted wine, inimitable in character, longevity and elegance.
Vinification: The harvest and selection of the bunches are done manually. The grapes are destemmed and gently crushed. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats. The winemaking philosophy is simple: to gently extract all the characteristics of the grapes from this estate. Aged 100% in French oak barrels for a minimum of 15 months. All wines are sealed with natural cork. As they are not filtered or cold stabilised, they may develop a precipitate with age.
Tasting Notes: Vibrant colour. Complex aroma of black fruit, with great amplitude and generosity, well complemented by fresh notes of fine and elegant spice. Creamy on the palate with well-polished, round tannins, showing a freshness reminiscent of red fruits, together with floral notes. This is a vigorous wine with a long life ahead of it.
Grape Varieties: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinto Cão and Old Vines
Winemakers: Ricardo Macedo and Jean-Claude Berrouet

Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinto Cão and old vines. A wine with a restrained aroma, highlighting notes of wild fruit, black plum, blackberries, forest and black pepper. On the palate, it has a well-balanced tannin structure, elegant and fresh, with a very long finish with notes of black fruit, wood and nuts. A beautiful wine to accompany a Marrare steak.
