Chateaux du Terte 2019
Château Marquis de Terme 2019:
Château Marquis de Terme, dating back to the 17th century, is one of the most prestigious Crus Classés in Margaux. The estate was acquired by the Sèze family in 1830 and has since been passed down from generation to generation. Château Marquis de Terme 2019 is an elegant and complex red wine that reflects the tradition and unique terroir of the estate.
Winemaking process: The Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc grapes are carefully harvested by hand and vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Fermentation is followed by maceration for around 20 days. The wine matures for 18 months in French oak barrels, 50 per cent new and 50 per cent second use.
Tasting notes: Château Marquis de Terme 2019 shows an intense ruby colour with garnet reflections. On the nose, it reveals complex aromas of ripe red fruits, spices, cedar and tobacco. In the mouth, it is full-bodied, with structured but elegant tannins and a long, persistent finish.

The 2019 du Tertre opens in the glass with aromas of sweet cassis and plums mingled with undergrowth, cedarwood, violets and subtle hints of cigar wrapper. Medium-bodied, bright and integrated, with a nicely concentrated core of fruit, lively acids and fine, powdery tannins that assert themselves on the finish, it delivers a certain generosity of fruit in a fine-boned package. Even if this numbers among the more powerful du Tertre vintages of recent years, it remains a wine defined by elegance more than impact.
A fantastic du Tertre with blackberries and blueberries. Very pure fruit character in general. Stone and tea undertones. It’s full-bodied with a tight, focused tannin backbone. Excellent structure. One of the best ever from here. So precise. A blend of 54% cabernet sauvignon, 27% merlot, 13% cabernet franc and 6% petit verdot.
Dark garnet ruby colour, opaque core, violet reflections, delicate shine at the edges. A little nougat, ripe wild berries and black cherries, a touch of precious wood. Juicy, complex, fine sweetness in the texture, ripe and balanced tannins, a touch of cherries and chocolate on the finish, seems powerful and persistent, shows length, already well developed, will be accessible relatively soon, a versatile food companion.
Tasted blind. Not that deep a colour. Fragrant. Nicely balanced and sweetly fruity until a note of sharpness on the very end. Good balance in an early-maturing, proper Margaux.
Offers incense and black tea notes that give this aromatic intrigue, while roasted plum and cherry compote flavors provide the bulk of the experience. Delivers a swath of warm humus on the finish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Drink now through 2032. 8,000 cases made.
